Certification is based on testing performed under RespirTek’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation using applicable OECD and ISO test methods, including but not limited to:

• OECD 301
• OECD 310
• ISO 9439

Specific acceptable methods are defined in the applicable Certification Scheme document.

Typical certification timelines depend on:

• Selected test method
• Material characteristics
• Inoculum requirements
• Laboratory scheduling

Ready biodegradability tests generally require 28 days of active testing, with additional time for preparation and technical review.

Applicants will receive a projected timeline following application review.

Authorization to use the RespirTek Certification Mark is granted only after formal certification approval.

Mark usage is governed by the Certification Mark Use Guidelines and Certification Agreement. Misuse, misleading representation, or unapproved claims may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.
